Built like a formal dress, worn like an easy one
The bodice here is structured, so the top holds its shape without you having to think about it once. The waist is draped, which is where the softness comes from, and the two together are why the dress photographs as considered rather than thrown on.
From the waist down it stays fitted before flaring gently out towards the hem. The fabric is soft and light, so the fall reads fluid instead of stiff, and the square neckline keeps everything on the classic side of dressed up. Comfort is there, it just stays discreet.
